As much as we love our big hikes, we are also just as interested in discovering short walks that deliver a big reward for little effort. We are all about the effort/reward ratio! Attie Creek Falls certainly provides an epic reward for very, very little effort.
Attie Creek Falls is located off Cardwell Forest Drive in the Girringun National Park. To get there by car, you are looking at a roughly 10 minute detour west of Cardwell. You can Google Maps Attie Creek Falls, Google maps will get you to the below point where there is a very faded sign to the falls, turn left at this sign.
Once you have taken the left continue along this road, there are green arrows which will guide you straight to the carpark, but to avoid doubt, at the first fork continue right and at the second fork take a left.
Once you get to the car park there is an information sign. Take a right, you will have to walk around 500 metres to the falls. Fair warning, the majority of those metres are uphill, however, this walk is suitable for all fitness levels. Our friend who is 26 weeks pregnant didn't complain once on this short walk.
The track is also very easy to follow and well maintained. I actually walked this track in my thongs.
On this occasion we only visited upper Attie Creek Falls, not the lower section. The reward at the top is pretty spectacular.
While in the area, we highly recommend also visiting the Cardwell Spa Pool, there is literally zero walk involved and Google Maps will lead you straight to the carpark. Both of these spots are great for a refreshing swim.
